Central value with a pool
With a backpacker price range but hotel style, Senghout represents a great deal – it has a central location and swimming pool but will set you back just $10.
Senghout is just to the north of the market and a block back from the river but a great rooftop terrace provides 360 degree views of the town and surrounding area. Rooms are spacious and clean, though minimally decorated, and many come with welcome verandas. The air-con rooms with balconies at $20 are also a great deal. Some of the rooms don’t have windows, which means you can swap a view for air-con without sacrificing financially. All rooms have WiFi access, hot showers, cable TV and fridges, and the hotel offers the usual range of services plus bike and motorbike rental. They also have a small gym that is free to use for guests.
Their pool is open to non-residents for $2 per person.
