With an aspect looking across the river, make sure to ask for one of the upstairs balcony rooms at Mittapheap in order to take advantage of the views -- although there is nothing to sit on when you’re there.

This is a standard Khmer guesthouse, with clean and simple rooms that are quite bright compared to other offerings in town. The showers are hot water, which is not always the case with offerings in this price range. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but English was limited (sufficient to get you to your room, but not much more). There was someone on site who spoke excellent French though when we stopped by. The central location, while being off the main road and therefore less noisy help to make this an attractive proposition.
