A ten-minute walk from the waves, Bingin Inn offers a clean and comfortable budget stay with a swimming pool and friendly relaxing vibe.

Up for grabs are air-con double and twin private rooms or dorm beds, all with ensuite cold-water bathrooms set in a double-storey L-shaped longhouse edging the pool and small but lush garden. Whitewashed doors and window frames along with cascading vines boost the fresh tropical feel of this modest homely place.

Rooms are budget–styled but quite spacious.

Rooms on the ground level offer small furnished private terraces while the top floor rooms are a tad larger and enjoy full glass frontage with windows that can be opened to benefit from the wafting breeze (we’d pack a mozzie net and nix the air-con). Spacious and clean tiled interiors are all similarly bright and airy, with the main difference being the bed configuration.

The 4-bed mixed dorm provides two sturdy wooden bunks with spring mattresses, a top sheet and thin blanket—pack a sleep sheet if you need more. Individual lighting and power outlets are available near each bunk, but there are no lockers, however there is ample room to store your bags on the floor without tripping up your roommates. A couple of beanbags and a small desk offer lounging and or work options, but not enough for everyone at the same time! Twin and double rooms are also furnished with comfy beds, but only with a bottom sheet and thin blanket—no top sheet, although a bedside table and lighting are provided. Ensuite bathrooms are very basic with only cold-water showers and a very tiny washbasin and mini shelf to hold your toothbrush.

The bunks are very tall.

Within the beautiful garden, the smallish swimming pool sparkles and is oh so inviting on a hot day—there are a couple of lounges for the sun-worshipers. Breakfast is not included, but a small warung fronts the property with a decent selection of reasonably priced options.

The dorm rooms at Bingin Inn offer good value for backpackers, and although the pool and garden are delightful, some may find the private rooms a tad too basic. If you would prefer a hot shower, you may like the Superior rooms at Medori Putih Homestay or the deluxe rooms at Moyo and Son (note that their upper-floor rooms have no windows). If a swimming pool is not a priority, very lovely rooms are on offer at Padang Padang Breeze a few kilometres up the road. Bingin Inn can help you with bike and car rental as well as surf lessons too.
