Adila Warung and Homestay

Adila Warung and Homestay

Pristine simple rooms with views

More on Munduk

We visited Adila Warung and Homestay on their opening day in June 2016, so of course everything was pristine; we get the impression from the friendly family that they intend to keep it that way.

Travelfish says:

Overlooking Melanting Cottages, with views out to sea, the homestay is very close to Munduk Waterfall. Four bright but sparsely furnished, smallish rooms sit side by side in a longhouse block clinging to the edge of the precipice. Mosquito-netted four-poster beds boast crisp white striped linen including a snug duvet, topped with towel swans. Bedside tables provide lamps for nighttime reading. Simple tiled hot-water bathrooms offer towel racks and a few hooks to keep your bits and pieces dry. Verandas are furnished with a loveseat or a couple of chairs to admire the view, but there’s presently nowhere to put down your drink. The small cement area in front looks a little stark and could do with some pot plants or some brightening up — but after all it was their first day, and the owner mentioned she may cover that area with pebbles. Above the rooms the brand new warung has possibly even better views than the rooms. Wooden tables and chairs looked conformable, but the menu was not yet available — opening soon. Rates include breakfast and are comparable to many along the strip that offer larger rooms, so it’s probably worth asking for a discount.

Sally spent twelve years leading tourists around Indonesia and Malaysia where she collected a lot of stuff. She once carried a 40kg rug overland across Java. Her house has been described as a cross between a museum and a library. Fuelled by coffee, she can often be found riding her bike or petting stray cats. Sally believes travel is the key to world peace.
