Cute friendly backpacker
Sweet family run Bhakti Guest House follows the same neat and functional style of a lot of similar homestays in Pemuteran, but this cute little place just seems to make an extra effort.
Set in a quiet village location on the mountainside of the main road, 250 metres back from the middle of Pemuteran, with only two air-con rooms sitting side by side in a duplex style block.
The basic but clean tiled air-con interiors offer solid wooden beds with comfortable spring mattresses, sporting smart neutral toned linen. Ikat runners and batik cushions add local flavour. While flanked with bedside tables, there was only one lamp in the room we viewed. A standard fan is available if air-con isn’t for you. Pebbled outdoor-style ensuite bathrooms are cold water only. A small terrace furnished with a bright cushioned bench seat and table looks out over a patch of grass and pot plants — a splendid spot for eating your included breakfast or logging into the free WiFi.
Wayan and his family are very friendly and helpful and can arrange local activities and transport. This well-kept guest house is a good budget option, walk-in rates were less than we found online, but with only two rooms, you’d better call ahead.
