For non-divers too
Behind a dive centre right on the main road at Pemuteran, two rows of super cute bungalows line a pretty garden path at Global Dive Lodges, and despite the name, you don’t have to be a diver to stay here.
The bungalows small air-con rooms are decidedly tasteful and feel a little more luxurious compared to similar homestays in the area. Dark toned walls add a mood of sophistication, and contrast with whitewashed mosquito-netted wooden beds. Comfortable spring mattresses sport quality linens and bedside tables with lamps and additional overhead reading lamps ensure you don’t have to get out of bed after nighttime reading. Little extras like umbrellas and rattan tissue boxes demonstrate the thought and care the hosts have put into making a comfortable stay. The ensuite outdoor bathroom is particularly smart with stone finishes, wood decking and bamboo towels racks. There’s room for your bits and bobs, and the hot-water rain shower has a decent sized soap / shampoo shelf (it’s the little things).
Screened by bamboo blinds, and lush foliage, the small furnished terrace outside the room feels private. A small share kitchen is available if you’d prefer to cook rather than eat in Global Dive Lodges’s own or one of the many nearby restaurants.
Breakfast and WiFi are included, and as the name suggests, diving and snorkelling trips can be organised. If you’d prefer somewhere a little more upmarket with a pool, their sister hotel Global Royal Pemuteran is around the corner.
