Pick room nine

For the cutest little (read tiny) room in Sidemen with excellent views, one of the budget offerings at Sawah Indah outshines most others.
Room nine is a little antique-carved wooden house, transported and refurbished to be part of the small resort, which also offers a range of other accommodation. Although this particular rooms falls into the midrange category, deals online can bring it down to flashpacker rates, but you’d better be quick. Alongside this whitewashed interior, romantic mosquito-netted comfy-bedded nest, other rooms are divided between three spacious standalone brick bungalows and a large triple-storey building that houses a family room, deluxe rooms and other budget rooms.
Local touches and natural textures and colours predominate in the tasteful classic-styled fan-cooled rooms. Facilities include a safe, minibar, WiFi access, plus a TV in the more expensive rooms. Ensuite bathrooms vary between large and sparse to compact, but all are clean, with modern amenities, and feature local Sidemen cement tiles.
Breakfast is included as is afternoon tea. Cool off in the multi-hued tiled infinity pool with views down the valley, or move to a nearby sunlounge. Sawah Indah Villa’s restaurant offers some of the best views around too. They serve Indonesian, Balinese and Western dishes, and offer a kids menu for fussy ones. Sawah Indah Villa is a solid midrange choice, but do compare deals with sister hotel Abian Ayu Villa
