Of the resort-style offerings on Jalan Bisma, Samhita Garden quietly stands out.
A traditional Balinese gate leads to spotless grounds, beautifully manicured gardens and a clean enticing pool. The whole area is peaceful and well maintained.
Deluxe rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. The classic styling is a little bland, but not offensively so. Well appointed air-con rooms have comfortable king-size beds, lounges, satellite TV, a desk and cool marble floors. Small traditional Balinese paintings and drawings add a some local flavour. A spacious walk-in dressing room leads to a roomy marble bathroom with a bath tub and separate toilet. Plenty of hanging space, room for two suitcases and a small minibar are all built into a shelving unit. The glass-fronted rooms have wide balconies that overlook the attractive pool and gardens. One of the more conveniently located hotels on Jalan Bisma, Samhita Garden is not far from Jalan Raya Ubud, next door to Café Des Artistes. We were offered walk-in rates of 700,000 rupiah for a deluxe room without breakfast and US$130 for a suite (oddly in two different currencies), which is a great deal for the quality on offer. Rates cited here are the published rates, and if you can't get them down, considerBisma Eight
as an alternative.
