Rooms here are clean, the beds comfy, the linen gaudy with Barbie motifs, the blankets ample for the frigid overnight temperatures and the hot water bathrooms a blessing. The rooms, as with most others in Dieng, do get cold overnight with a lack of carpet adding to the frigidity of the place. The bathroom features a squat toilet and Western hot water shower but is very clean. Breakfast is disappointing and simply a piece of bread and a cup of tea, which will be inadequate for just about everyone staying here – we wonder why they bother. On the plus side, staff are happy to prepare basic meals of nasi goreng and mie rebus at any time of day for prices similar to those in nearby warungs. In considering all the plusses and minuses of Arjuna Homestay, we still consider it one of the best options in town primarily due to its cleanliness and modernity.
