Located on the less popular east coast away from the majority of dive sites, Freddie’s is a bit of a surprise.

Owned by South African Freddie, it’s a breath of fresh air on an island full of rustic shacks. For very reasonable prices you can choose between a standard or family bungalow, both of which include water cooler, fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, fan, decent beds with clean sheets and super clean bathrooms with hot water and Western toilet. The beach out the front is a stunner and invites you in to while away the hours either snorkelling or simply bathing. The reef out the front isn’t that great, but the water is so clear that it’s worth dipping your head in for. One of the best things about this place, however, is the food. Priced very reasonably, Freddie’s offers burgers, pizzas and Indonesian food which is some of the best on Pulau Weh. This is a top spot worth coming to for the food alone.
