Romlan has been around for years as a budget traveller haven and still offers rooms at great prices to a steady stream of guests.

The traditional Batak house in particular is super value for money – a thing of beauty with stunning lake views and a hot-water bathroom bolted to the side of it. The standard rooms are very clean and come with attached hot-water bathrooms with Western toilets as well as spring beds – not always a given in this area. WiFi is available in rooms sometimes and in the restaurant always. The restaurant itself is good and many people will elect to have their breakfast here out of convenience. Our only minor gripe with this place is that the length of the path from the main road is a bit of pain when it’s wet. The upside of this is that there is very little road noise. A great place in Tuk-Tuk.
