If you’d prefer a homestay to a more typical guesthouse, the friendly Pelangi Homestay is a 10-minute walk to the south of Madak Belo and offers a very clean, simple front room overlooking a manicured sand enclosure running down to the water.

There’s comfortable chairs out front and a separate seated area for dining; simple Indonesian fare is available here from the attached warung. This will appeal to those on a tight budget (though for another 50,000 you can get a room at Madak Belo, which we think is a better deal) or those who would prefer to be staying in a village rather than out on the beach.
