The very popular Bombora Bungalows has a clutch of rooms around a small swimming pool along a quieter stretch of Jalan Pariswisata.
Rooms are bungalow style and are clean and well kept, with hammocks strung out front and WiFi beamed throughout. They all face onto a small, beanbag-strewn plunge pool. Beds have decent linen with a throw and clean bathrooms. A social cafe and bar out front provides a spot to get to know other travellers. It’s a very compact place and it struck us as a bit of an upmarket version of The Spot -- more comfortable digs for those who don’t want to lower themselves to bamboo and rattan. There are about a half dozen rooms in total -- they’re solid, with hammocks on the deck, and are closely packed enough to chat to your neighbours. The whole place has a bit of a surfer vibe to it. It’s very popular and reservations in advance are a very good idea -- essential in high season. Rates are high for their simple bungalows considering other options in Kuta, and the pool is very small, but staff are friendly and this is a welcoming, very popular place.
