As long running as it is far out of town
As long running as it is far out of town, Mimpi Manis feels like a true homestay in that you really feel like you’re staying in someone’s backyard, with them and their animated dogs.
The main issue is that the location is a long way from anything else, so you will need your own transport to get into Kuta proper. If that’s not an issue, the rooms are simple if rustic fare and very affordable. Travelling families on a budget may find the two-storey house appealing. There’s plenty of room for an extra bed on the ground floor and upstairs is fine for Mum and Dad -- it has a small terrace veranda. Going by the photos on the walls, fishing is a big thing here and we found the owners to be friendly and welcoming, which, going by the online reviews, more than compensates for the distance from everything. A home away from home, perhaps.
