Set well south of Kuta proper, Kuta Cabana Lodge rests on the rise, delivering impressive distant views of Kuta Beach.
It’s a bit of an unusual arrangement, with a mix of standard rooms in a row house setup and then a few far larger effectively two-floor bungalows, and then, if you upsize again, you get a family bungalow that can sleep six and would have even better views over the surrounds. All are built into the hillside, so there are lots of steps -- not for the mobility challenged. Rooms are clean and well kept, but the bathrooms are simple. The larger rooms have hammocks slung underneath -- pack a good book. Kuta Cabana will appeal to those looking for a quiet getaway but within a five-minute motorbike ride of downtown. Staff are friendly if very laidback.
