Pondok Siola

What a find!

More on Labuan Pandan

What a find! Pondok Siola is in its second incarnation after closing for an 11-year period after the Bali bombings.

Travelfish says:

While the thatch and bamboo bungalows of yesteryear have gone, the concrete duplex cottages that have replaced them are smart and comfortable, and family-run Pondok Siola retains a welcoming traveller vibe. It’s the only absolute beachfront property in Labuan Pandan and we loved it. Rooms are modern and well configured, with spacious bathrooms, white-tiled floors and comfortable beds with good bedding. A terrace out front of each makes for a good spot to hang out, looking across the lawn garden dotted by coconut palms and facing on to a jet-black sandy beach that looks across the Alas Straight to Sumbawa. The peaceful place could really only be improved by a few hammocks. Rooms are in blocks of two, which make it ideal for families who might want adjoining rooms (though there is no connecting door). A good and well-priced restaurant on-site (beer is available, just not on the menu) serves up decent basic Indonesian fare and you could easily lose a few days doing nothing here. We organised snorkelling trips from here both north to Pulau Lawang and Pulau Sulat and south to Gili Bidari and Gili Kondo -- no complaints at all. This spot is highly recommended -- it’s one of our favourite spots in Lombok.
