Lime-green and purple and owned by trekking outfit, John’s Adventures just down the hill, Senaru Villa offers sharp upstairs-downstairs villa rooms (four to a block) with the option of either "Ocean View" down to the Bali Sea, or "Mountain view" up to Rinjani.

We’re not sure the mountain views are worth the extra coin, but if you’re looking for Western standards and Rinjani Lodge is full or beyond your budget, this is a good second option. Rooms are well fitted out with TV, air-con, WiFi and hot-water bathrooms and the restaurant offers great views to both the ocean and the mountains. Reservations recommended in high season.
