You get what you pay for
Immediately to the north of Jo Je, the Transit Hotel offers lower standards at a far more reasonable pricepoint, with around a dozen rooms in a two-storey building running between the beach and the road.
At face value, for a setting this close to the beach, it isn’t too bad a value, but the rooms, with air-con and WiFi, are very basic -- this is a case of getting what you pay for. There’s a busy beach bar area strewn with beachbags at the beach end, making the beach a more comfortable spot to relax at than the rooms. Transit Hotel is related to the far more centrally located Central Inn, which is superior in just about every way -- but which doesn’t empty straight onto the beach. Overall these are affordable but mediocre rooms on Batu Bolong beach.
