Expansive grounds, affordable price
The oddly named Mascot won’t win any design awards, but the expansive beachside grounds deliver on affordable beachside lodgings facing onto the beach in the heart of Senggigi.
Lawn grounds are dotted with freestanding and duplex chalets that are quite spacious and comfortable. There’s zero in the way of flair as far as the rooms go, but they’re air-con throughout with WiFi, TV and deck furniture -- though not all that many of the rooms have a decent view of the sea. There’s also a medium sized pool by the beach and plenty of lawn for the kids to run wild on. If anything the pool seemed small for a resort of this size, but business seemed slow when we visited and it was deserted. The touts on the road that runs along the front of the hotel here can be particularly tiresome. Check online for a competitive rate.
