Chill out on the hill
Unlike neighbouring Tugu Lombok, Oberoi and Lombok Lodge, Medana Resort doesn’t have beachfront -- though it does have beach access -- as it sprawls over the hilltop overlooking the bay.
And sprawling is the word, with the resort very spread out with oversized cottages dotted over the hillside. It’s a bit of a stroll to everything, including the freeform swimming pool, restaurant and beach, and we got the feeling this was a more laze around in your room and on the terrace kind of place than anything else. To that end, rooms are oversized and well looked after, though they are very dated in their appearance -- this isn’t a modern resort. Nevertheless, if you want to stay in this area but don’t want to spring for the more expensive neighbouring resorts, Medana isn’t a bad option, though we did prefer Rinjani Eco Beach Resort. As with its neighbours, Medana prices in US$.
