Great beachfront lawn garden
Step into this microcosm of the once lively miner scene towards the southern reaches of Yo Yo’s.
Think restaurant adorned with Anzac, Wallabies and Allblacks posters, Hash House reports and so on -- this is a true Antipodean taster in the southern reaches of Sumbawa. The main accommodation is in the form of a couple of rows of longhouses that face onto one another directly behind reception -- if you can’t find anyone at reception (highly likely) go down to the restaurant to see if you can rouse someone. Prices are perhaps a little high for the area, but the gardens and lawn grounds are very pleasant and very kid friendly -- there is a playground on-site beside the restaurant. The largely Western menu is comprehensive and the drinks list equally impressive -- we’re sure we spotted a bottle of Bundaberg Rum behind the bar. Even if you’re not staying here, swing by for a chat -- the owner, originally from Tasmania, is a chatty, friendly guy, with some interesting tales to tell -- staff also generally very helpful and friendly. Afternoon drinks are a regular item here among the dwindling number of expats still in the area.
