Jaliya Guesthouse

Jaliya Guesthouse

Good backpacker option

More on Luang Prabang

Clean and modern, Jaliya is great value if you don’t mind the 10-minute walk to the town centre and the busy street.

Travelfish says:

There’s a variety of fan or air-con rooms in the main building. The rooms have clean freshly painted walls, tile floor and bits of furniture such as small vanity, chair and bedside table which gives this budget place good value. The beds have a wooden headboard and decent linens. The bathrooms are your typical small wet room with electric heated shower. All the rooms are similarly furnished but the second floor rooms at the front have a shared balcony. The standouts are the rooms tucked away in the back garden. Full of plants, the garden gives the place some life and it’s a great place to chill out and has lounge chairs and round stone tables. Don’t expect a friendly welcome though, the reception can be a bit terse. This road has been taken over by Chinese and Vietnamese businesses and we suspect this place is no longer under local ownership. Still, it’s a good option for a budget traveller who doesn’t mind being away from the tourist action and old world ambience.
