More on Pakbeng

Phetsokxai Hotel is a three-tiered 38-room hotel, which is large by Pakbeng standards.

Travelfish says:

It’s pricey but you can pretty much count on them having a room if you’ve arrived late and are struggling to find somewhere decent to stay. The hotel scales the side of a hill and the standard rooms, located on the top level (technically the third floor) feature wood, wood and more wood, with shiny floor to ceiling wood walls and wood floors. It’s clean and certainly feels solid. The bathroom is tiny though and large folk would find it uncomfortable showering over the toilet. This floor of the hotel has an enormous wrap around balcony with some seating and view of the hills. The street level rooms are considered a higher category but it’s not worth the extra dollars. The rooms are oddly configured, with a large empty living area with a small patio table and some uncomfortable looking chairs, while the beds are crammed up in a loft. Rate includes breakfast. Phetsokxai Hotel is located up the road leading left from the pier, beside Kopchai Deu Restaurant and across from Mekong Riverside Lodge.
