Up the main road on the right about 300 metres from the dock, Vatsana Guesthouse (also with signs spelled Vassana and Vasana) has an old building with a more recent addition attached.

The old building houses bare basic rooms with shared bathrooms which are a step up from Donevilasack’s rooms with shared bathrooms. Vatsana’s new building sports decent rooms with private bathrooms, TVs and air-con. WiFi is available throughout the guesthouse and the owners are really friendly. The only minor complaint is the noisy restaurant across the road is a favourite for travellers passing through town in the high season and it will keep you awake until closing time at about 23:00.
