The Nong Tang Guest House has a prime location on the western tip of the lake under the impressive limestone tower which dominates the area, but that's where the good things come to an end for this shabby and rarely used guesthouse.
There is a bed (of sorts) and a mosquito net which is full of holes. The maid will bring some sheets, but they are certainly shy about cleaning them. The rooms are out the back, behind the terrace eating area with a few bungalows further along the lake. The staff (seemingly the whole town act as staff) are friendly, but little English is spoken. The communal bathrooms of the rooms in the main complex have seen better days and are located just to one side of the sleeping rooms. The bathrooms in the bungalows are better, but are still of the squat toilet cold water bucket wash variety. Sleep was peaceful here because of the location, but in all reality this town ain't for sleeping in unless you are a hardy type of adventurer. The guesthouse is located at the sharp curve next to the lake and is okay to crash in for a night before moving on.
