At the Western end of town on the main road is the Saigon-Champasak, a narrow old building next to the Royal Pakse.

It's a Vietnamese-run place that isn't as popular as many others in town, but this is perhaps because it's easy to miss when walking along the road. The rooms are all air-con and come in two configurations. Double beds without windows and twin beds with windows. Both configurations come with a TV, a couple of scraps of furniture and tiny hot water bathrooms with Western toilet. The double rooms in particular are a bit of a bargain if you don't need windows and are much better than the ill-maintained ones next door at the Royal Pakse. An added bonus is that free WiFi is available in the rooms.
