Flawless toprange choice
One of the more upscale options near the riverbank, Lao Orchid is popular with business travellers yet it still manages to feel boutique, cosy and elegant, making it one of the better Vientiane hotels in this category.
It will appeal to travellers looking for a central location, comfortable rooms, high standards and a professional reception. Rooms have been tastefully done with natural materials and muted colours. Woven rattan headboards and wood trim contrast nicely with creamy walls and earth-toned decor. They have all the modern comforts like WiFi, air-con, satellite TV, mini-bar and safe. Everything looks polished and well presented, and the small balcony is a welcome bonus. The suites are the same style and are of course larger and have a separate living area. Breakfast is included, served in their pleasant outdoor restaurant terrace on the second floor. There are also guest computers available in their air-conditioned lobby. It’s a fantastic option in the centre of town on the higher end of the price range. Try Hotel Khamvongsa if you’re on a tighter budget.
