In terms of cleanliness, it’s on par with Funky Monkey but well below Lucky Backpackers Hostel.

The dorm rooms are basic, have no natural light and are stuffy with only a single air-con unit and a few fans struggling to cool the entire room, but the small luxury you are afforded is that each bed has their own small light and locker. Some rooms have up to 20 beds in them and no privacy which can come with the usual dorm issues associated with noisy and smelly neighbours. The toilet/shower rooms are passable but there are only four – that’s a very small facility for so much humanity. People stay here for the social atmosphere, and the air-conditioned downstairs has a backpacker-central vibe where many people meet other travellers for their journey to other parts of Laos. A simple breakfast is included in the price as is free vodka at night. All-in-all, this is for those looking for a cheap option and new travel mates. WiFi included.
