Summer camp style
Mahseer Chalet is tucked away behind Liana Hostel, down an unmarked small footpath and delivers a spacious sprawl of wooden bungalows overlooking the Tembeling River that has a cosy summer camp vibe to it.
The selection of chalets range from 15 ringgit per bed dorms to 150 ringgit family rooms, with air-con and hot water shower options as well. The rooms are well kept, airy and clean. Simple furnishings include decent sized beds and mattresses and private verandas with chairs. They also have free WiFi, which you can connect with from their office porch or pull up a chair under a nearby shade tree. Having a torch and bug spray on hand would be recommended for those after sunset treks to get provisions, which is a good 10-minute walk away.
