A 10-minute walk from the centre of town, the spacious home perches atop a small hill.

Comfortable parquet floored guest rooms take up the upper level of the two-storey house and are equipped with both air-con and ceiling fans. Be sure to request one of the mountainview rooms, as they are really quite terrific. Doubles, a twin, a triple and a family room are your choices; they’re simply furnished and as you would expect everything is gleaming and homely. Most rooms share the one simple, but spotless bathroom and the family room has a private ensuite. A communal lounge area provides a space to sit and chat to other travellers, as well as a hot and cold water dispenser and accoutrements for hot drinks.

The warm and friendly atmosphere is aided by the helpful host who is a font of local information. They can arrange many excursions, and know all the best local spots to eat, as well as providing transport at reasonable prices. We loved the welcoming aura of this family-run guesthouse, but did think it was a little pricey compared to the hotels in town. A hotel, however, won’t offer the same personal service. WiFi and breakfast are included, and if you prefer they can take you to a cafe to try some local treats.
