This is a decent, old-style hotel located right in the middle of the downtown area next door to the ticket office for Bangkok buses.
The public area decor is distinctly mid-80s with a few nice touches such as wood-panelled walls and full-length wall mirrors, but the rooms are just okay. They’re of a good size and the air-con offerings are super frosty but the bathrooms are a bit ropey, with leaking taps and little water pressure. The woman on the front desk is quite helpful and can arrange tours to the bat cave and so on. The hotel has WiFi but it costs an extra 60 baht for two days of access. While the Numsin is no great shakes, and an elevator would be a welcome addition, it is still the best in the downtown area.
