Samed Inn

Plain, comfy and clean

More on Ko Samet

If you simply need an affordable air-con room to retire to after partying the night away on Ao Phai, Samed Inn has got you covered.

Travelfish says:

Located just up the road from Silversand, the small and straightforward inn delivers function over form.

Accessed by steep stairs, the rooms aren’t huge and definitely won’t be highlights of your travel memories, but they will get the job done for a decent night’s sleep. Expect a soft bed, small LCD TV placed in a corner, mini-fridge, free WiFi, basic hot-pink wet bathroom with hot water and several windows. Grab a corner room and you might get a slight sea view over the rooftops of neighbouring resorts. The rooms are a bit better than what’s on offer at many guesthouses up in Samet Village for the same price.

While there is a sofa in a downstairs common room where a young staff member lazed with her smartphone when we arrived, this is not a guesthouse where you might expect to find travellers shooting the breeze over a few cold ones. It’s really just a place to sleep. The owner often steps out and leaves reception unattended. You can always call him, but don’t expect to have your every whim catered to. Discounts can be expected for long stays.

If Samed Inn is full, you could go a little further down the road and try for a similarly priced room at the rather tired The Lost Resort, or try your luck among neighbouring Sea Breeze’s stacks of ugly concrete rooms.
