Paradise Palms Resort

Comfy and intimate

More on Ko Chang

Opened back in 2000, little Paradise Palms was among the first resorts to appear on Haad Khaimook and it remains a great choice thanks to the engaging family owners and comfortable bungalows beside the sea.

Travelfish says:

The notably friendly and helpful owners provide an excellent homestay-type experience—their own house sits a quick walk across the seaside lawn from the five bungalows. With rates that have only increased slightly over the years, they offer excellent value for families and couples seeking a quiet setting.

With some built very close to the shore and others set further back but also facing the sea, the peachy concrete bungalows come with comfy beds, fridges, TVs, WiFi, turquoise-tiled bathrooms with hot water and fans in addition to air-con. Attached verandas are perfect for a slow read, though you could also relax on loungers and floor cushions placed atop bamboo platforms along the rocky shore.

Though lacking the style of nearby Saffron on the Sea, which is arguably a better choice for couples, the rooms at Paradise Palms are spacious, well kept and charming in a beach cottage sort of way. Families looking to score the largest bungalow should contact well in advance, as a dedicated group of repeat guests patronise Paradise Palms each year.

Breakfast and cold drinks are provided for guests, but Paradise Palms’ kitchen is not always open. This shouldn’t be an issue considering that Saffron on the Sea, one of Chang’s top-ranking Thai restaurants, is a quick walk down the shore. You’ll also find a handful of cheap Thai eateries on the main road.

Kayaks and snorkeling gear are free for guests and rubber shoes are offered to make that rocky shore more approachable. This is a good example of what sets Paradise Palms apart—attention to detail in the service. For a long time the resort relied entirely on direct bookings, though at research time we did notice it on Booking.com. Rates negotiable for long stays.
