Flash rooms in the centre
Enjoying a prime slice of beachfront with direct access to the main drag through Central Haad Sai Khao, 15 Palms started as a restaurant in 1999 and later added a three-floor building with six intelligently designed midrange rooms.
Fronted by tinted floor-to-ceiling windows, the modern and immaculate rooms come with soft beds and lightwood accents complimenting white walls with a brushed cement exterior. Spacious bathrooms have hot water and rain showerheads in glass-walled stalls to go with extras like flatscreen TV, fridge, kettle, robes, desk and WiFi.
Rooms on the lower floors were designed for two with table and chairs on attached balconies fronting a small but well formed swimming pool. On the top floor, deluxe rooms sleep four guests and feature queen beds down below with daybeds up top on a loft. Though lacking balconies, these bag you the best sea/sunset views and will likely be quieter than the ground-floor rooms.
Experienced staffers run a popular restaurant with a billiards table, full bar and inviting beachfront section with beanbag chairs and barbecue after dark—it’s well worth stopping by to eat and drink even if not staying here. With reception located at the bar, 15 Palms is not a full-service resort and guests might have trouble finding a staffer to help when the restaurant is busy. If that’s all right with you, the rooms are a solid step up in quality when compared to similarly priced rooms at most of Haad Sai Khao’s larger resorts.
Location wise, 15 Palms is a great choice if you’re looking for comfy digs on the stretch of Haad Sai Khao that gets liveliest after dark—we’d expect to hear the beats from nearby bars as late as 01:00. This is the centre of the action and the immediate vicinity feels rather cramped, but you’ll find loads of places to eat, drink and shop nearby.
