Away is first off the rank on your right as you enter Khlong Chao from the north and while some of the rooms and the khlong-side salas offer commanding views of the beach, the resort is unfortunately on the wrong side of the khlong and has no real beach of its own.

This means you’ll be needing to swim or kayak to the beach (or walk for 30 minutes to loop around to get to the beach). There is also a very frequent procession of speedboats throughout the day, which personally we’d find a little annoying -- though at least they are not longtails. The deluxe front row bungalows on the other hand are super-sized and to a quite superior standard. The verandas have cushioned lazy chairs and within there’s the main bed, a day bed (and plenty of room for an extra bed should you have the kids travelling with you). Bathrooms are spotless (though guests complained to us the water was quite off-colour) and there is a separate outdoor dining area to the side of the bungalow should you want to eat "at home". Overall the bungalows are pretty solid value for money and this is a better deal than either Tinkerbell or Peter Pan, but the lack of direct beach access is unfortunate. Be sure to shop around online for a discounted rate.
