With a name that might give off the impression that this is a high-end boutique resort, Kachapura does deliver some elegance in a budget package.
Great value detached cottages are spread well apart from one another on a palm-covered hill. With the exception of air-conditioners in some and fans in others, all rooms are the same. They have dark wood exterior walls, high, slanted roofs, at least ten tall and narrow swing-open windows, dark wood floors, large porches and firm beds with high quality linens and mosquito nets. TVs in all rooms are an unexpected bonus. Given the quality and design, the affable lady-in-charge could probably get more for these rooms, but she seems happy to fit into Lonely Beach's budget backpacker atmosphere, relying exclusively on the walk-in trade. The resort is situated near the action and many good restaurants, so you'll definitely hear some late-night thumping tunes through the trees. If Kachapura is full, neighbouring Lonely Beach Resort offers acceptable air-con rooms for comparable prices.
