Elegant villas outside of town

More on Khon Kaen

The award-winning Supanniga Home is right up there with some of the finest design accommodation in Thailand.

Travelfish says:

Spread out amid low-hanging trees and picnic tables in a soothing corner of eastern Khon Kaen that borders on the rural, three elegant villas are each individually designed for style-conscious luxury travellers. Relying on a mix of natural stone, rattan, bamboo, different shades of wood, very tasteful framed art and abundant greenery, the nature-inspired rooms are some of the most romantic we’ve seen for a while. We were hugely impressed by one of the cheaper villas featuring a sumptuous four-poster bed, gorgeous hand-carved furnishings, numerous antiques and a colourful handmade tablecloth adorning a breakfast table out front. In addition to all expected creature comforts, you’ll find wide private decks with plentiful cushioned chairs, sofas and hammocks. Stunning partially open-air bathrooms come with rain showers, copper basin sinks, “waterfall walls” and day beds. The two-bed, two-bath “Velu Villa” sleeps six and has a master bathroom with wall-size sliding glass doors opening directly onto a large private Jacuzzi. Supanniga Home doubles as an excellent Thai restaurant and offers cooking classes along with a range of tours in the Isaan region. (Next time you’re in Bangkok, the sister restaurant, Supanniga Eating Room, is worth seeking out.) Supanniga Home is located several kilometres east of downtown and is really only viable if you have your own wheels or are booking one of the tours.
