Glacier Hotel

Icy cool style

More on Khon Kaen

One of Khon Kaen’s newer upscale hotels, the Glacier welcomes you with trickling water features leading into an airy lobby with all-white walls, huge glass-windows and blue-cushioned sofas that look something like spacecraft escape pods.

Travelfish says:

The Jetsons meets Superman’s icy hideout theme might be a bit much for some, but we appreciate the effort to be different. The cool colour scheme continues in the spotless and very comfortable rooms, featuring royal blue carpets with white stripes, nearly wall-size glass windows and swirly blue art over the cushy beds. Desk, LCD TV, mini-fridge, large safe and coffee/tea facilities come standard, and the immaculate bathrooms include some interesting sinks that look like they were designed with aerodynamics in mind. Facilities include a large restaurant, full black-lit bar in the lobby and a nicely formed medium-size swimming pool with space-age loungers on the third floor. Breakfast and WiFi are included in the rates and the staff members that we encountered seemed friendly and helpful. The location is a five-minute walk northeast of the train station, a stone’s throw from a bunch of large nightclubs. Booking site rates were a bit cheaper than what we were quoted as walk-ins. If you’re not into blue and white, the nearby Pullman Raja Orchid Hotel has similarly plush rooms for considerably more cash.
