Hotel La Villa

Handy for the Vietnamese consulate

More on Khon Kaen

Before you read any further, be aware that Hotel La Villa is located fairly far on the east side of the city and is not within easy walking distance of downtown.

Travelfish says:

It is however very handy if you’re in Khon Kaen to pick up a visa at the Vietnamese consulate, which is a two-minute hop up the street. It’s also worth considering if you have your wheels, as the atmosphere is relaxing and the small courtyard swimming pool with plenty of loungers is a major bonus in this price range. Located in the main building above reception and accessed by a lift, the cheaper rooms are modern, spacious, comfortable and well kitted-out with LCD TVs, good-quality beds on raised platforms, desks, fridges, squeaky clean bathrooms with rain showers behind glass partitions, and glass doors opening onto balconies overlooking the pool. A handful of pricier rooms are set in a horseshoe-shaped two-floor building around the pool, which appears green thanks to the type of tiles used (not an algae infestation). Free WiFi is on offer, and the cheerful receptionist who greeted us spoke good English. If you stay here, be sure to walk a few hundred metres south on Chata Phadung for excellent drip coffee and good conversation at Motet Cafe, run by a Thai photographer who lived in California for 12 years.
