Classic Thai hospitality
An easy walk from Chai Khong Road and Wat Sri Khun Mueang, Ban Hao is an old-fashioned Thai guesthouse offering warm hospitality and thoughtfully kept rooms.
After passing through a ground-floor common area that feels more like a local family’s living room, a staircase takes you up to a handful of guestrooms that are all slightly different from the next. Additional rooms are located in a separate house on the same property, with the cheapest relying on adequate shared bathrooms. All rooms come with hard beds and thick comforters on sturdy wood frames, several screened windows, TVs, cushioned chairs and wall-mounted fans in addition to the air-con. While the quad is an excellent budget option for families, the small room with a balcony facing the front might get a bit noisy as traffic passes along Sri Chiang Khan Road. Bicycles can be rented and coffee/tea facilities are always provided for free downstairs, where you’ll also find several sofas and cabinets filled with antiques. The kind and helpful owner speaks some English and is happy to welcome foreign guests. All rates include a complimentary breakfast.
