Solid flashpacker option
A new addition to Loei’s accommodation scene as of 2014, Muanmanee is a plain concrete hotel that calls itself "boutique" for no good reason (sorry, the framed photos of sunflowers don’t cut it).
Titles aside, this is a perfectly comfortable choice with good value digs to go with extras like complimentary breakfast, shared computers in the lobby/lounge, parking and bicycle rental. Accessed only via stairs, rooms are all very similar and come with quality beds, soft lighting, TVs, desks, mini-fridges, good-size bathrooms, plenty of electrical outlets and tiny balcony. WiFi is partitioned by floor and works fairly well. The place had only been open for a couple of months when we stayed here and the young staff seemed a bit distracted.
The location down a side lane near the hospital is a bit out of the way, but it’s a short walk to several bars and restaurants on Nok Kaeo Road. In the same alley, the older Loei Village Hotel has comparable rooms for a couple of hundred baht more.
