Biggest hotel in town
Set along a fairly long stretch of the riverfront, the Riverview is the only property in town that could really be called a full-on hotel, as opposed to a guesthouse or homestay.
Though lacking the character of the more homely options, it’s a solid hotel with welcoming reception staff and a restaurant, karaoke bar, car park, complimentary breakfast and bicycles for guests. Rooms come in three forms, the best being the exceptionally bright “grand deluxe” editions that bag you river views through wide glass doors. The next step down might come with partial river views, though a large part of the building is situated behind the neighbouring houses so this isn’t guaranteed. The cheapest standard rooms are rather dark and lack river views but still aren’t too shabby for the price. All rooms are plenty spacious and equipped with air-con, TVs, desks, fridges and free WiFi. Some fake flowers provide the only real colour to contrast the white floors, lightwood furnishings and blank white walls. A five-minute walk from the Phra That and within a stone’s throw of the river, the location is probably the biggest selling point here.
