Creature comforts and river views
Located right on the river and a short walk west of Mut Mee, The Rim opened in late 2013 to offer three massive rooms that are perfect for flashpackers or families.
Each is fully equipped with air-con, large LCD TV, large fridge, high-quality linens on comfortable beds, modern bathroom and several big windows to let in those Mekong views. First and second floor rooms are identical, but the unobstructed view from upstairs fetches an extra 100 baht. More of a guesthouse than a hotel, The Rim has a pleasant backyard garden with a few tables, and a small but welcome cafe serving excellent coffee and snacks. The very enthusiastic owner was one of the friendlier people we met in Nong Khai. Recommended.
