A newly built spot in the vicinity of Mut Mee and The Rim, Baan Sabai is set in a cool white building that looks down over the Mekong.

The cheapest rooms are situated away from the river -- so no river views -- but they offer good value with a fair amount of space, big windows, air-con, LCD TVs, fridges, decent bathrooms and comfortable beds. Another 200 baht (still very reasonable) bags you a bigger room with direct Mekong views and wider-screen TV. The laid back and very friendly receptionist also offers one-bedroom serviced apartments located in the corners of the building. Downstairs is a small but breezy open-air cafe with sturdy wooden tables. This place is a good alternative to Mee Mut for those seeking a comfortable and well-equipped room with more of a modern Thai-style atmosphere.
