Friendly and clean, the hostel is owned by the same guys who run Hub Pub and is located down Tesaban Soi 2, just across the road from their cafe/bar. It’s bright, freshly decorated and the 12-bed dorm with metallic-framed bunks painted in various primary colours comes with new looking linen plus three well-maintained bathrooms with hot showers. There are plans for the upcoming high season in late 2015 to rent out rooms in a neighbouring house for a bargain 250 baht each. Funky is only about 100 metres off the main road, so the location is good and you can always soak up some river views from one of the other cafes or restaurant terraces. Service is helpful and attentive, with tons of local information available and bicycles for hire too. Breakfast isn’t included in the rate, but try the full English at their cafe for 99 baht, though you’ll need to order the night before.
