Friend House is about the cheapest you’ll find in town, but it has clean rooms, set in a large teak and cement building in a central location.

The lime green painted ground floor might be a bit off putting, with the upstairs wooden rooms probably a better option. Ground floor rooms opening directly onto the car park and small communal area can be slightly noisier but then the concrete walls are a lot thicker than the wooden partitions upstairs. Rooms feature nothing more than a mattress on the floor and a wall fan but they are clean enough, though we felt the shared bathrooms could do with a make-over. The small restaurant out back has no ambiance whatsoever, but serves a few simple breakfast dishes and does provide free WiFi. This is really only for those on a seriously restricted budget or for when everything else is full.
