It's hard to miss the signs for the resort as you enter town, but it's perched just above the river overlooking the valley, at the village’s western limit. Though it is no longer the only game in town, it is still the best offering in terms of luxury, and seems very popular with well-heeled, big city visitors. The chalets have faux pleated bamboo walls and all come with balconies from where to savour the outlook. All the rooms are well decorated, with cool, smooth concrete floors, relaxing lighting and rustic but comfortable fittings and furniture in Lanna style. The bathrooms are well equipped and decently sized, beds are comfortable and TV, air-con and WiFi are all provided. Some chalets are larger and some do have better views, and these ones command the higher room rate. Staff are helpful and efficient as you’d expect from a higher end resort and English is spoken. A terrace restaurant also has a great view and their inclusive breakfasts get good reviews. A riverside restaurant at the foot of the hill – Huan Saphan Bor Klua – also belongs to the resort and is open for some excellent north and south Thai food. Boklua View can get very busy during high season and weekends and their peak rates aren’t cheap but if you can get a low season rate -- check their website for offers -- it is pretty good value for what you get.
