Located down a small lane off Chai Kwan this new, attractive building is home to an excellent coffee shop with a couple of huge rooms upstairs.

The villa consecrates the entire second and third floors to just one vast room each, with three double beds and a couch/lounge area; flat screen TV and a large bathroom with two toilets. A small indoor seating area on the roof has lovely views of the lake and its surrounds and there’s a coffee shop downstairs. They’re clearly aiming at large families of Thai visitors but, especially during the week and slow periods, are quite happy to offer the rooms to one or two people at reduced rates. While 1,200 baht may sound a lot, you’re getting an entire floor to yourself and rooms are exceptionally well decorated and comfortable. This also solves any issues over which rooms have the best views since you’re getting all the various views in one go. Needless to say the upper floor ones are marginally better. The friendly owners speak very good spoken English and have plenty of local info. This is a great deal if you want to splash out a bit but you’ll need to book early and during holidays and high season weekends - good luck!
