Luxury by the river
Set on a quiet stretch of riverside within a two-minute stroll of Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, Yodia Heritage has raised the bar for accommodation in P’lok.
Both the receptionist and bellhop who showed us around were exceptionally polite and focused on providing excellent service -- even for a somewhat scruffy looking walk-in. Occupying a fairly small area, the hotel feels more like a boutique resort. Rooms are set in a light beige two-storey building with a pool for all guests on one side and a semi-private pool fronting the suites on the other. The deluxe room that we peeped offered true luxury: dark wood features, Thai silks, sumptuous bed, large balcony, whirlpool tub and tasteful ceramic sink in a gorgeous bathroom. You’ll also find all of the mod-cons you would expect in a high-end hotel. Individually designed with a mix of traditional and modern Thai art, rooms have Thai names with meanings like "Happy Mood". The hotel also offers an Italian-Thai restaurant (breakfast is included), library and tour bookings. We were offered 300 baht off the low-season rate in September, and we also found that discounts can be scored online.
