Good flashpacker option
A relatively new addition to the P’lok accommodation scene, the Ayara Grand offers a heightened level of style and comfort compared to older options in the same price range.
Rooms are sleek, spacious and spotless, with colourful modern art and bright red, green or orange touches to contrast the minimalist white walls and floors. In every room, modern appliances include air-con, LCD TV, DVD player, minibar and electronic safe. Bathrooms are large and immaculate, and beds are very cushy. One room has a tacky "galaxy" theme with black lights and space-inspired wall murals, but most of them are tastefully done. The midsize hotel features a long but narrow swimming pool, cafe, complimentary buffet breakfast and parking. It’s located just north of the train tracks down a quiet side street, but still within a five-minute walk of the centre of town. The orange-clad staff is rather business-like. We found that rates were around 200 baht cheaper on the hotel’s website than the rates listed below, which we were quoted as walk-ins.
